1337 ET - Broadline and hardline retail sales fell 2.2% in the week ending December 22, decelerating from the prior week, D.A. Davidson analysts say in a research note, citing point-of-sale data. Housing and auto names "continued to be solid," the analysts say, while discretionary names haven't been as strong so far in December. Advance Auto Parts' sales grew 13.2% in the recent week and are up 10.5% this month, while Home Depot reversed its sales deceleration in the prior week, posting a 5.2% increase this week. Sales across Citi Trends, an apparel and home items retailer, continued to fall, while Tractor Supply sales swung to negative, the analysts write. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
