New Hope (ASX:NHC) received notice that JPMorgan Chase and its affiliated entities became substantial holders of the mining firm as of Jan. 2, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The financial services firm and its affiliates acquired 43.4 million shares in the company, representing 5.14% total voting power, the filing said.
New Hope's shares slipped almost 1% in recent Tuesday trade.
