Tesoro Gold (ASX:TSO) reported its ongoing infill and extensional drilling program at the El Zorro gold project in Chile revealed a high-grade gold zone, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The new zone, located approximately 50 meters below the current mineral resource estimate boundary, returned an intercept of 132.18 meters at a grade of 1.28 grams per tonne of gold from a depth of 363 meters, including 32.20 meters at 3.28 g/t of gold from 371.30 meters.
Assay results were reported from eight diamond drilling holes as part of the ongoing program and the firm is awaiting assays from thirteen holes.
The firm is planning additional drilling as part of its current program to further define and expand the zone, according to Zeff Reeves, the firm's managing director.
The firm's shares rose 14% on market close.
