Motorola Solutions (MSI) may receive "full restitution" as Hytera Communications pleaded guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to steal at least one trade secret from Motorola, the US Department of Justice said Tuesday.
Under the terms of the plea agreement, Hytera may be fined up to $60 million, the DOJ said. The court is also expected to order Hytera to pay restitution to Motorola, with the amount to be known during the sentencing set for November, DOJ added.
Hytera admitted to taking Motorola's documents and source code related to digital mobile radio technology, according to DOJ, citing the plea agreement.
Motorola said the guilty plea does not resolve ongoing civil litigation with Hytera for the collection of an over $471 million award for copyright infringement.
Hytera did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
