Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) said Wednesday it has invested in Plantible and CH4 Global through its Cultivate Next fund to support plant-based proteins and methane-reducing cattle feed.
The financial terms of the investments were not provided.
Plantible develops a duckweed-derived plant protein designed to replicate the properties of animal proteins while reducing environmental impact, while CH4 Global produces a cattle feed additive made from seaweed, aimed at lowering methane emissions, Chipotle said.
