Jan 22 - (The Insurer) - The American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) has appointed Dino Robusto, executive chairman of the board at CNA Financial Corporation, as its new chair, succeeding Travelers CEO Alan Schnitzer who led the board for the past two years.
In addition, David Bell, president and CEO of ALPS Corporation and ALPS Property & Casualty Insurance Company, has been elected chair-elect.
Robusto joined CNA in 2016 after nearly 30 years at Chubb, where he held various senior roles, including executive vice president and president of Chubb’s commercial and specialty lines division. He was succeeded as president and CEO of CNA by Doug Worman at the start of the year.
Bell’s background includes prior experience as COO of Allied World Assurance Corporation and as an executive protection manager and lobbyist for Chubb.
“With Dino and David at the helm, APCIA will continue to advance solutions that address the increasing insurance costs facing families, individuals, and business owners, including supporting mitigation and home-hardening initiatives, and tackling legal system abuse,” said David Sampson, president and CEO of APCIA.
