Grocery Outlet on Wednesday said Potter, 54 years old, joins from specialty-grocery retailer Fresh Market, where he was CEO from March 2020.
The Emeryville, Calif., company said Eric Lindberg Jr., who has been serving as interim president and CEO since RJ Sheedy stepped down in October, will continue as chairman.
Grocery Outlet said Potter, who will also join the board, will receive an annual base salary of $1.025 million and an annual incentive bonus with a target of 125% of his base pay.
