Norwegian energy-industry service provider Aker Solutions and SLB Capturi have been awarded a contract to deliver a carbon capture and storage solution at a waste-to-energy plant in Oslo, Norway.

The contract, from Hafslund Celsio, includes delivery of a carbon-capture plant, a liquefaction system, temporary storage, and loading facility at the waste incineration site. It also includes an intermediate carbon dioxide storage and ship loading system at Oslo harbor.

SLB Capturi is a joint venture between Schlumberger and Aker Carbon Capture that provides carbon removal and reduction solutions, and the project announced Monday will be delivered based on its 'Just Catch' standardized carbon-capture plant.

For Aker Solutions, the contract is worth between 2.5 billion and 4 billion Norwegian kroner ($223.3 million-$357.3 million), with the company delivering engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of the onshore facilities.

The project will start in the first quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed by 2029.
