Stocks to Watch Tuesday: Nvidia, Vistra, Boeing, LVMH -- WSJ

Dow Jones
01-28

By Joe Wallace

Nvidia $(NVDA)$, Broadcom $(AVGO)$: The chip stocks rose in premarket trading, but remained well below Friday's closing prices. The emergence of China's DeepSeek wiped more than $590 billion from Nvidia's market value on Monday while rival Broadcom sank more than 17%.

Vistra $(VST)$, Talen $(TLN)$, Constellation $(CEG)$: Power producers also clawed back some lost ground ahead of the bell. They had plunged on Monday on fears the AI industry wouldn't devour as much power as previously expected.

Crane $(CR)$: Looking ahead to 2025, the industrial-products manufacturer forecast earnings that fell short of analysts' own expectations. Shares fell more than 5% premarket.

Brown & Brown $(BRO)$: Shares rose about 5% before the bell, after the insurance broker beat analyst forecasts for quarterly revenue and profit.

Aerospace and defense companies Boeing $(BA)$, Lockheed Martin $(LMT)$ and RTX $(RTX)$ are due to report before the bell. Boeing has already warned of a near-$4 billion quarterly loss.

Also in earnings, General Motors $(GM)$ is due to report in the morning, while Starbucks $(SBUX)$ is on deck after the close. Luxury conglomerate LVMH (FR:MC) will publish earnings after the French market closes.
