Jan 30 (Reuters) - New Zealand's business confidence dipped in January as pricing and cost indicators rose, with the downward trends seen over the past year showing signs of flattening off, an ANZ Bank survey showed on Thursday.
The survey's headline measure showed a net 54.4% of respondents expected the economy to improve over the year ahead, versus a 62.3% optimism level in the previous poll in December.
A net 45.8% of respondents expected their own businesses to grow in the next 12 months, versus 50.3% last month.
"It's becoming harder to write off the rises in pricing and cost indicators seen over recent months as simply volatility," ANZ Chief Economist Sharon Zollner said in a statement.
