T-Mobile US (TMUS) has begun beta testing expanded coverage using SpaceX Starlink satellites on Apple (AAPL) smartphones.

On its website, the company announced that it is now offering text messages via satellite, with voice and data features to be added later.

Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday that Apple, SpaceX, and T-Mobile had been working to add support for the network in the latest iPhone update.
