His post on X, featuring a photo with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, hints at deeper collaboration between the two AI giants. The announcement comes just after DeepSeek shook up the AI space and a week after OpenAI, Microsoft, Oracle (NYSE:ORCL), Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Arm (NASDAQ:ARM), and SoftBank (SFTBY) unveiled the Stargate Project, a joint effort to push AI development forward.

Microsoft says the key terms of its deal with OpenAI are locked in through 2030, keeping its exclusive API access, revenue-sharing setup, and rights to OpenAI's tech. OpenAI reaffirmed its focus on artificial general intelligence (AGI), calling this next step a major milestone. Meanwhile, OpenAI rolled out ChatGPT Gov, a version designed for U.S. government agencies.

At the same time, DeepSeek is surging in popularity, surpassing 2 million downloads and hitting AI leaders like Nvidia, which lost nearly $600 billion in market value.
