Kingsrose Mining (ASX:KRM) said Tukes, the exploration permitting authority in Finland, defended the granting of an exploration permit to the firm in the administrative court and requested the dismissal of an appeal lodged against the approval, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The company submitted an extractive waste management plan to Tukes for the proposed drilling at Area 1 at the Penikat platinum group elements-nickel-copper project.

The firm's legal counsel submitted a legal rejoinder to the court demonstrating compliance with Finnish law and adherence to best practices.

The court will determine whether it has sufficient information to make a decision or if additional details are required.

The company will meet with a regional environmental regulator to discuss a Natura 2000 report it submitted for Area 2 to 5 at the project and the review process in March, the filing said.

The company's shares were up 3% in recent Wednesday trade.
