0924 GMT - Shares in semiconductor stocks in Asia and Europe are down after President Trump levied tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada, plus an extra 10% tariff on imports from China. In Asia, shares in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. closed 5.7% lower, while chip-making equipment supplier Tokyo Electron closed down 1.7%. South Korean memory-chip maker SK Hynix--which supplies Nvidia--shed 4.2%. In Europe, shares in Dutch supplier of semiconductor-making equipment ASML Holding are down 2.9%, with smaller rival ASM International losing 2.5%. German chip maker Infineon Technologies is down 3.4%, while rival STMicroelectronics trades 4.3% lower in Paris. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
