UMB Financial (UMBF) said late Friday it will complete the acquisition of Heartland Financial USA (HTLF), effective before midnight.
The transaction will expand UMB's geographic footprint to 13 states from eight and increase its asset size to about $68 billion, the company said.
UMB and Heartland in April 2024 agreed to an all-stock deal valued at roughly $2 billion, with former Heartland shareholders owning about 31% of the combined company.
