Tutor Perini (TPC) said Wednesday that a joint venture between the company and its unit Frontier-Kemper Constructors, has been awarded a $1.18 billion design-build contract by the Gateway Development Commission for the Manhattan Tunnel Project, which is part of the larger Hudson Tunnel Project.
Tutor Perini said the project will involve the construction of twin 30-foot diameter tunnels beneath the Hudson River.
Tutor Perini said that work will begin this spring with substantial completion expected by 2029, and that the contract value will be added to the company's backlog in Q1.
