EcoGraf (ASX:EGR) said that its product qualification facility operational campaign produced high-purity EcoGraf HFfree purified spherical graphite on a continuous basis, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
An analysis of material produced from the facility confirmed the key chemical and physical properties essential for anode coating and that it meets key chemical specifications for iron, silicon, sulfur, and aluminum.
The facility is jointly funded by the Australian government's critical minerals development program.
IP Australia accepted the firm's second patent application filed in Australia providing additional coverage on EcoGraf HFfree purification operations including the application to anode recycling.
It signed a nonbinding agreement with a chemical firm for the potential supply of the spherical graphite and has received a letter of support from a battery manufacturer for the potential establishment of an EcoGraf HFfree purification facility.
The firm's shares rose past 2% in recent trading on Thursday.
