Feb 4 (Reuters) - The Federal Aviation Administration said on Tuesday that the agency will continue to attend meetings and engage with airlines on safety issues after an employee told air carriers that officials would not participate.
Airlines were notified on Tuesday by an FAA employee that agency employees would not take part in safety-related committee meetings, including on next-generation air traffic control issues and secondary barriers, according to an email seen by Reuters. "This was an unauthorized communication sent by an employee," an FAA spokesperson said late on Tuesday. "We will make sure that commitment is clear to everyone in the agency."
