Blink Charging (BLNK, Financials) has announced that Mike Battaglia will assume the role of president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. The scheduled retirement of Brendan Jones guides the leadership shift.
The firm, which runs and produces electric vehicle charging equipment, said Battaglia was chosen after an extensive board of directors' review. He most recently held the position of chief operating officer and has been with Blink since 2020; other responsibilities included vice president of sales and chief revenue officer. The business showed a revenue rise from $3 million in 2019 to $140.6 million in 2023 during his tenure.
Battaglia underlined in a business statement his dedication to improving Blink's position in the EV charging market by means of infrastructure development and operational optimization. He underlined the company's objective of raising financial performance in line with supporting energy independence.
Battaglia is an experienced industry leader, according to Board Chairman Ritsaart van Montfrans, who also said his expertise places him well for Blink's next expansion stage. Former CEO Brendan Jones also voiced confidence in Battaglia's leadership based on his knowledge of Blink's activities and solid ties to important players.
Battaglia had leadership roles at JD Power, SmartDisk, and Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. prior to joining Blink. The business also acknowledged that he moved to the Washington, D.C., metro region in order to be near its offices.
