Imax (IMAX) said Wednesday it delivered a box office record of $53 million during the seven-day Chinese New Year holiday period that ended Tuesday, exceeding the previous record of $34 million posted in 2023.
The company said that even though the holiday is over, its Chinese New Year films will still play throughout the Imax China network for another month.
Imax said Enlight's "Ne Zha 2" led the way during the holiday period, earning $36 million.
