Semiconductor packaging and testing company Amkor Technology (NASDAQ:AMKR) will be announcing earnings results tomorrow after the bell. Here’s what to expect.
Amkor beat analysts’ revenue expectations by 1.1% last quarter, reporting revenues of $1.86 billion, up 2.2% year on year. It was a slower quarter for the company, with a miss of analysts’ EPS estimates and revenue guidance for next quarter slightly missing analysts’ expectations.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Amkor’s revenue to decline 5% year on year to $1.66 billion, improving from the 8.1% decrease it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $0.38 per share.
Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Amkor has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates twice over the last two years.
Looking at Amkor’s peers in the semiconductor manufacturing segment, some have already reported their Q4 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. FormFactor delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 12.7%, meeting analysts’ expectations, and KLA Corporation reported revenues up 23.7%, topping estimates by 4.5%. FormFactor traded down 6.8% following the results while KLA Corporation’s stock price was unchanged.

Investors in the semiconductor manufacturing segment have had fairly steady hands going into earnings, with share prices down 1.4% on average over the last month. Amkor is down 3.8% during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $33.93 (compared to the current share price of $24.45).
