CNA Financial (CNA) reported Q4 core earnings Monday of $1.25 per diluted share, down from $1.33 a year earlier.
Three analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.23.
The company also increased its quarterly dividend by 5% to $0.46 per share and declared a special dividend of $2 per share, payable March 13 to shareholders of record on Feb. 24.
