Telstra is considering selling its data centres assets, pondering a deal that could be its first infrastructure transaction since it offloaded a $2.8 billion mobile tower stake to superannuation investors four years ago.
The telecoms giant’s data centres business is of a vastly smaller scale – worth between $100 million and $200 million – but are in a sector that has been rife with M&A activity. From AirTrunk to David Di Pilla’s forays, there’s been plenty of dealmaking in data centres over the last 12 months.
