Playa Hotels & Resorts (PLYA) said Monday it agreed to be acquired by Hyatt Hotels (H) for $13.50 per share in cash.
The sale price represents a 40% premium to Playa's stock price, the company said.
The acquisition will combine Playa's beachfront luxury properties with Hyatt's global brand and operational expertise, according to a statement.
