What To Expect From Hyatt Hotels’s (H) Q4 Earnings

Hospitality Hyatt Hotels (NYSE:H) will be reporting earnings tomorrow before the bell. Here’s what investors should know.

Hyatt Hotels beat analysts’ revenue expectations by 0.8% last quarter, reporting revenues of $1.63 billion, flat year on year. It was a slower quarter for the company, with a significant miss of analysts’ adjusted operating income estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Hyatt Hotels’s revenue to be flat year on year at $1.65 billion, slowing from the 4.5% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $0.79 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Hyatt Hotels has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates four times over the last two years.

Looking at Hyatt Hotels’s peers in the travel and vacation providers segment, some have already reported their Q4 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. United Airlines delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 7.8%, beating analysts’ expectations by 2.1%, and Royal Caribbean reported revenues up 12.9%, in line with consensus estimates. United Airlines traded down 2.3% following the results while Royal Caribbean was up 13.6%.

There has been positive sentiment among investors in the travel and vacation providers segment, with share prices up 2.7% on average over the last month. Hyatt Hotels is up 3.8% during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $163.39 (compared to the current share price of $160.08).
