Energy Transfer Signs Long-Term Natural Gas Agreement With CloudBurst Data Centers

Energy Transfer (ET) said Monday that it has signed a long-term agreement with Denver-based CloudBurst Data Centers to supply natural gas to their AI-focused data center in Central Texas.

Energy Transfer said its Oasis Pipeline will provide up to 450,000 MMBtu of firm natural gas per day to CloudBurst's Next-Gen Data Center campus near San Marcos, Texas.

The company said the natural gas supply would be sufficient to generate up to 1.2 gigawatts of electric power for at least ten years, beginning with phase one of the data center.

Energy Transfer said CloudBurst plans to make a final investment decision later this year, with the facility set to be operational by Q3 of next year.

Energy Transfer said it is in talks with several data center developers and expects this to be the first of many agreements to supply, store, and transport natural gas to power data centers and electric generation facilities.
