Berkshire Hathaway reduced its stakes in Bank of America and Citigroup and established a new holding in Constellation Brands during the fourth quarter.
Berkshire's position in Apple, its largest equity holding, was unchanged in the quarter at 300 million shares. The stock investments were detailed in a 13-F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission late Friday.
Berkshire reduced its holding in Bank of America by 15% to 680 million shares and slashed its investment in Citigroup by around 75% to 14.6 million shares. The new investment in beer, wine and spirits producer Constellation Brands totaled 5.6 million shares worth over $1 billion on Dec. 31, 2024. Constellation shares reacted favorably to the Berkshire news, gaining 6.6% to $173.75 in after-hours trading Friday.
