Origin Energy Posts Higher Fiscal H1 Earnings as Revenue Rises; Lowers APLNG Production Outlook

Origin Energy (ASX:ORG) reported Thursday that its earnings per diluted share in the fiscal first half rose to AU$0.59 from AU$ 0.575 per diluted share a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Visible Alpha were expecting EPS of AU$0.50.

Revenue for the six months ended Dec. 31, 2024, was AU$8.77 billion, up from about AU$8 billion in the same period a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha expected AU$8.04 billion.

The energy generation and retailing firm expects fiscal 2025 underlying earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization for its energy markets unit to range from AU$1.1 billion to AU$1.4 billion.

For its Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) project, ORG expects fiscal 2025 production of 670 to 690 petajoules, compared with its previous guidance of 685 to 710 petajoules.

Total capital expenditure for fiscal 2025 is expected to range from AU$1.5 billion to AU$1.7 billion.

The board declared an interim dividend of AU$0.30 per share, up from the AU$0.275 in the previous reported period, payable on March 28 to shareholders on record as of March 5.
