On February 12th, the Chinese media “Autohome” released a series of spy photos of the first model of the GAC-Huawei (GH) project, an MPV model. The report stated that the vehicle is expected to be equipped with Huawei’s advanced intelligent driving system.

The photos show that the vehicle’s body profile is similar to existing GAC MPV models such as the Trumpchi M8 and Trumpchi E9, with a laser radar mounted on the roof. The central part of the wheels displays the GAC “G” logo, and the rear of the vehicle features a “Towards Dreams” inscription, suggesting a possible name for the new car.

On November 30th last year, GAC and Huawei signed a deepening cooperation agreement, announcing the creation of a new high-end intelligent new energy vehicle brand, in addition to Trumpchi, Aion, and Haopu. GAC will use the new brand as a platform to leverage their respective strengths with Huawei through cooperation in product development, marketing, and ecosystem services.

On January 14th this year, the then General Manager of GAC Group, Feng Xingya, announced that the 78th meeting of the 6th Board of Directors of GAC Group approved the “Proposal on the GH Project,” agreeing to invest in establishing the GH Project Company (tentative name, subject to registration) with a registered capital of 1.5 billion RMB.

“We will use this project company as a platform to deeply integrate our respective strengths with Huawei, engage in comprehensive cooperation in various areas such as product development, marketing strategies, and ecosystem services through joint definition and design, to create a brand-new car brand based on a new architecture and leading technology.”

He also revealed that the two parties have already started working together and are committed to launching a series of intelligent new vehicle products, with the first product positioned as a luxury intelligent new energy vehicle in the 300,000 RMB price range.

Recently, Feng Xingya was elected as the Chairman of the 6th Board of Directors of GAC Group. His predecessor, Zeng Qinghong, retired due to age, resigning from the positions of Chairman of the 6th Board of Directors, director, and Chairman of the Board’s Strategic Committee.

Over the past year, GAC Group’s total annual sales volume was 2.031 million vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 20.04%. GAC expects a net profit attributable to shareholders of 800 million to 1.2 billion RMB in 2024, representing a decrease of 72.91% to 81.94% year-on-year.
