Roku Channel Secures 'American Idol' Streaming Rights in Canada

Roku (ROKU) said Wednesday that it has partnered with television producer Fremantle to stream the eighth season of American Idol live and on demand on The Roku Channel for viewers in Canada.

The latest season of the entertainment competition show will air live on Disney's (DIS) ABC network on Sundays and Mondays and the next day on Hulu in the US, with a free simulcast on the Roku Channel in Canada, and will stream the following day on-demand on The Roku Channel.

Financial terms of the new contract were not disclosed.
