Air New Zealand Posts Lower Fiscal H1 Earnings as Passenger Revenue Drops

Air New Zealand (NZE:AIR, ASX:AIZ) reported Thursday that its earnings per diluted share in the fiscal first half fell to NZ$0.031 from NZ$0.038 per diluted share a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Visible Alpha expected EPS of NZ$0.03.

Total revenue for the six months to Dec. 31, 2024, was NZ$3.4 billion, compared with NZ$3.47 billion a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha expected NZ$3.29 billion.

Passenger revenue was NZ$2.91 billion, down from NZ$3.06 billion in the same period a year earlier.

The airline did not provide guidance "given the degree of uncertainty surrounding the number of grounded aircraft across the second half."

The board declared an interim dividend of NZ$0.0125 per share, down from the NZ$0.02 in the previous reported period, payable on March 19 to shareholders on record as of March 7.
