TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia President Prabowo Subianto said that Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Board or BPI Danantara is not only an investment fund management institution, but also a national development instrument.
Prabowo officially launched Danantara this morning, Monday, February 24, 2025.
"Don't get it wrong. What we are launching today is not just an investment fund, but a national development tool that must be able to change the way state wealth is managed for the welfare of all the people of Indonesia," said Prabowo in a speech at the inauguration of Danantara, which was monitored through the YouTube broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat on Monday morning, 24 February, 2025.
The Head of State claimed that the government has successfully managed the nation's wealth with strict financial discipline and responsibility in the first 100 days of his leadership.
"We have secured more than Rp300 trillion, almost US$20 billion, in the form of state savings," he said. "Funds that were previously hindered by inefficiency, corruption, and inappropriate spending."
He added that the funds will be managed by Danantara and invested in over 20 national projects, focusing on industrialization and downstream initiatives.
"High-impact projects that will create significant added value for the nation, create real benefits, quality jobs, and long-term prosperity for the people of Indonesia," he said. "We no longer want to sell natural resources cheaply, we do not want to be a source of raw materials for other nations."
On Monday, February 24, 2025, Prabowo officially launched BPI Danantara. He signed Presidential Decree Number 30 of 2025, which appoints the Supervisory Board and Implementing Agency for the Danantara Indonesia Investment Management Agency.
Additionally, Prabowo ratified Law Number 1 of 2025, the Third Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 on State-Owned Enterprises, and Government Regulation Number 10 of 2025, which outlines the organization and governance of BPI Danantara.
