Consumer stocks were steady premarket Friday with the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) and the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) flat recently.
Alibaba Group Holding (BABA) CEO Eddie Yongming Wu said Thursday in its Q4 earnings call that the company would invest "aggressively" in artificial intelligence. Alibaba Group Holding shares were up nearly 4% in recent premarket activity.
