In 2024, 17% of all PCs shipped were AI-enabled, and Apple dominated with a 54% share of that segment. In Q4 alone, 15.4 million AI-enabled PCs were shipped, marking an 18% sequential increase, indicating growing adoption among consumers and enterprises.

Apple finished strong in Q4 2024, significantly outgrowing the top three vendors and achieving a 10.2% total PC market share and a 45% share of AI-capable PCs, said Canalys analyst Kieren Jessop. The firm noted that Apple's upcoming Apple Partner Network, launching later this year, could help the company expand further into enterprise sales, an area where Macs previously struggled.

Apple's Mac revenue hit $8.99 billion last quarter, exceeding Wall Street expectations. In October, Apple refreshed much of its Mac lineup, introducing M4-powered MacBook Pros and updating MacBook Air models with M2 and M3 chips, doubling base memory to 16GB.

Outside of Apple, Lenovo and HP (NYSE:HPQ) each held a 12% share of the AI-enabled PC market, benefiting from Intel's (NASDAQ:INTC) Lunar Lake chips, alongside AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) and Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) processors in lower-end models.
