Wilmar's chairman and CEO Kuok Khoon Hong similarly bought shares earlier at $3.07 each
George Yeo, an independent director of Wilmar International F34
, has paid $545,385, or $3.09 each, for another 176,500 shares. This brings his stake to 776,500 shares.
Yeo, who was Singapore's foreign minister, joined Wilmar's board last April.
Yeo's buying came just days after Wilmar's chairman and CEO Kuok Khoon Hong added to his stake as well.
On Feb 21, Kuok, via various entities he controls, paid $3.07 each for more than 1.66 million Wilmar shares. He now controls more than 894,6 million shares, equivalent to 14.33%.
Wilmar shares closed at $3.18 on Feb 24, up 3.25% for the day.
