Alphabet (GOOG/GOOGL) unit Google's refusal to allow Enel's e-mobility app, JuicePass, on its Android Auto platform has been ruled an abuse of market power by Europe's top court, which sided with Italy's antitrust authority, Reuters reported Tuesday.

The Court of Justice of the European Union fined Google 102 million euros ($106.7 million) in 2021 for blocking the app, and Google challenged the decision, citing security concerns and the lack of a specific template for making JuicePass compatible with Android Auto, the report said.

The ruling is final and cannot be appealed, and the Italian Council of State will now consider Google's appeal in accordance with the CJEU judgment, the report added.

Google did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
