Celsius Holdings has hired veteran PepsiCo executive Eric Hanson as president and chief operating officer of the energy drinks maker, effective March 24.
Celsius, which recently struck a deal to buy rival Alani Nu for $1.8 billion, on Monday said Hanson will lead key growth-driving functions at the Boca Raton, Fla., company as it looks to accelerate growth and expansion.
Hanson, 53 years old, has been with PepsiCo since 1997, most recently as senior vice president of strategic partnerships.
Celsius and PepsiCo in 2022 struck a long-term distribution agreement that included a $550 million investment in Celsius by PepsiCo.
Celsius said Hanson, who will receive an annual base salary of $700,000, assumes the president role from John Fieldly, who remains chairman and chief executive. The post of chief operating officer is newly created, the company said.
