Core Scientific has hired Jim Nygaard as the bitcoin miner's new finance chief.
Core Scientific on Monday said Nygaard, who has served as managing director and head of M&A at XMS Capital Partners since 2008, will succeed Denise Sterling as executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Dover, Del., company on March 17.
Core Scientific last year said Sterling, who has been finance chief since April 2022, was planning to leave the company by May 1.
