Top Cryptocurrencies Weaker; Bitcoin Holds Above $89,000

Major digital assets were weaker late Thursday afternoon, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) trading above the $89,000 level.

The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, shed 0.9% in the past 24 hours. US equity indexes fell with the Nasdaq 100 down 2.6%, the S&P 500 falling 1.8% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average losing 1%.

Bitcoin was down 1.3% at $89,151, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume was down 12.8% to $45.91 billion.

Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, dipped 1.2% to $2,202.

XRP (XRP-USD) bucked the trend with a 3.8% gain, BNB (BNB-USD) dipped 0.1%, and Solana (SOL-USD) sank 0.9%.

Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) tumbled 1.8%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) dropped 8.2%.

The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.282% at 3 p.m. ET Thursday, rising from 4.263% Tuesday, while the five-year yield dropped to 4.058% from 4.161%.

The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry decreased 1.2% in the past 24 hours to $2.932 trillion with trading volume falling 10.7% at $110.31 billion.
