Alibaba $(BABA)$, (HK:9988): The Chinese e-commerce company unveiled its latest artificial-intelligence model as it takes aim at DeepSeek. Alibaba's shares jumped in Hong Kong, as did its American depositary receipts in premarket trading.
Volkswagen (XE:VOW3): European auto stocks rallied, a day after the Trump administration said car manufacturers would get a one-month reprieve from tariffs on Mexico and Canada. Volkswagen shares rose 3% in Frankfurt, while Stellantis (IT:STLAM), $(STLA)$ gained 1.4% in Milan.
Kroger $(KR)$ and Macy's (M) are scheduled to publish financial results before the U.S. market open. Costco $(COST)$, Broadcom $(AVGO)$ and Hewlett Packard Enterprise $(HPE)$ are due to report after the close.
Zscaler (ZS): The cybersecurity firm's earnings and revenue topped estimates, boosting its stock by about 5% premarket.
Marvell Technology $(MRVL)$: Shares in the semiconductor company dived 15% off-hours, despite its revenue and earnings coming in above forecasts. Marvell flagged a slowdown in part of its data-center business.
Veeva Systems $(VEEV)$: Shares in the cloud-solutions company climbed about 6% off-hours after it posted higher-than-expected results and gave a rosier outlook than anticipated.
ON Semiconductor $(ON)$: The chip company offered to buy Allegro Microsystems $(ALGM)$ at $35.10 per share in cash. Allegro said the offer was inadequate. Its shares rose 9% premarket, while Onsemi's fell about 2%.
MongoDB $(MDB)$: The New York software company swung to a quarterly profit, but its earnings outlook missed forecasts. Its shares slumped 17% before the opening bell.
