China Has Likely Entered AI Infrastructure Investment Upcycle, Nomura Says -- Market Talk

0354 GMT - An AI infrastructure investment is likely beginning in China's AI value chain, Nomura analysts say in a research note. Manus AI, a general AI agent, developed by China-based AI startup Monica, gained traction this week. According to its development team, the AI agent could complete complicated multi-stage tasks and outperform other mainstream agents. While its innovation may not be as groundbreaking as DeepSeek's, Nomura views the product as another example of China's accelerated AI innovation. The analysts think China's software makers could benefit from the AI investment upcycle in the mid- to long-term, as AI-driven efficiency improvements and cost reductions take effect. Meanwhile, software companies may adopt AI agents to further automate their platforms and improve user experience and engagement, leading to significant opportunities for business expansion, they add.
