Broadcom $(AVGO)$: The chip maker's shares jumped 12% in premarket trading after it reported a surge in AI revenue for last quarter. Other chip stocks such as Nvidia $(NVDA)$ and ARM $(ARM)$ also climbed, having sold off Thursday.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise $(HPE)$: The software company said it would cut about 5% of its global workforce and warned tariffs would weigh on its annual profit. Shares tumbled 20% before the bell.
Walgreens Boots Alliance $(WBA)$: The embattled drugstore chain struck a deal to be taken private by Sycamore Partners in one of the biggest recent leveraged buyouts. Walgreen shares rose 5% premarket.
Gap $(GAP)$: The fashion company's sales were stronger than expected during the crucial holiday quarter. The stock shot up nearly 20% ahead of the open.
Costco $(COST)$: The warehouse retailer's quarterly revenue missed expectations, but growth in same-store sales was higher-than-expected.
Universal Music (NL:UMG): The record label behind Taylor Swift posted better-than-expected subscription revenue growth, sending shares 4% higher in Amsterdam.
