1126 ET - Dine Brands Global's Applebee's and IHOP chains both saw increases in traffic from the value meal deals they offered in 4Q, CEO John Peyton says on a call with analysts. Applebee's leaned into its Really Big Meal Deal while IHOP pushed its House Faves specials in mid-to-late 4Q, and saw progress on traffic from both, the CEO says. The company now has to focus on advertising its promos in a crowded marketing space for deals, he says. "You couldn't watch a football game on Sunday in the fourth quarter without seeing restaurants promoting some version of a full meal value," Peyton says. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
