Healthcare shares' performance Tuesday hinged on their exposure to trade.
Tariff news slammed healthcare companies that depend on trade. Suppliers such as Becton, Dickinson and Abbott Laboratories suffered as trade tensions darkened the picture for imports and exports.
Domestic insurers and providers shook off the news. Plans like UnitedHealth Group, Elevance and Humana shook off the news to finish in the green. So did clinics like LabCorp Holdings--although kidney-care's DaVita declined.
