The Singapore Exchange is drawing out plans to list Bitcoin perpetual futures, with the planned launch of the contracts in the second half of the year, according to a Monday report on the The Business Times, citing an emailed statement from a spokesperson.

The news comes after US President Donald Trump's favorable approach towards cryptocurrencies boosted demand for the digital assets, the report noted.

The SGX deems that the offering will "significantly expand institutional market access," the spokesperson was quoted by the news agency as saying in the email.

The plan is still subject to approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the report said.
