--Mercedes-Benz will use lidar laser sensors made by China's Hesai to develop smart cars for global markets, becoming the first foreign automaker to use that Chinese-made technology outside the country, Reuters reports, citing an unnamed source.
--Mercedes didn't respond to a request for comment and Hesai--which on Monday said it had won a contract to supply its lidar products to a European carmaker--declined to name the customer, according to Reuters.
