1028 ET - A series of developments, including weakening demand, pushed American Airlines to cut 1Q guidance, CEO Robert Isom says at the 2025 JPMorgan Industrials Conference. Every airline was impacted by wildfires in California, he says. Adverse weather in the Sunbelt region hurt some of its big hubs, including Dallas Fort-Worth and Charlotte, the CEO says. "If those were the only two issues, we probably wouldn't be talking about major adjustments," he says. But on top of those were the January 29 crash of American Airlines Flight 5342, as well as uncertainty in the economy right now and domestic weakness in March, the CEO says. The airline now expects flat revenue and a wider adjusted loss. "This is disappointing," Isom says. Shares slide 4.2%. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
