Alphabet (GOOG) is close to buying cybersecurity startup Wiz for about $30 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing sources with knowledge of the matter.

The agreement could be finalized soon if there are no unexpected issues late in the process, the media outlet reported.

Alphabet was about to buy Wiz for $23 billion last year, but the deal fell apart amid concerns from Wiz, which included worries over how long it would take to get regulatory approval, according to WSJ.

Google and Wiz did not immediately respond to requests for comments from MT Newswires.
