Major digital assets fell late afternoon Tuesday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) lower but holding above the $82,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, was down 3.3% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 was down 1.6% in late trading, the S&P 500 fell 1% and Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.6%.
Bitcoin was down 2.8% at $82,206, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume dipped 9.6% to $23.9 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, dipped 2.3% to $1,902.
XRP (XRP-USD) lost 4.8%, BNB (BNB-USD) gained 0.6%, and Solana (SOL-USD) sank 5%.
Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) tumbled 5.9%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) dropped 4.9%.
The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.279% at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday, down from 4.304% Monday, while the five-year yield fell to 4.070% from 4.096%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry decreased 2.8% in the past 24 hours to $2.69 trillion with trading volume falling 4.9% at $70.47 billion.
