Baidu (HKG:89888) said it supports the establishment of an anti-unauthorized data access alliance, guided by the Chinese government, reported The Standard on Friday.

This move follows rumors of a doxxing incident involving the daughter of one of its vice presidents, according to the local daily.

The initiative aims to enhance data privacy protection, crack down on illegal data theft and leaks, and strengthen cybersecurity measures to create a safer online environment, the report said.

In addition, Baidu has established a special fund dedicated to combating cybercrime, focusing on protecting individuals' legal rights and corporate data security, added the report.
